If you are a company and you need to post workers temporarily to another EU Member State, you must request the issuance of form PD DA1 for the worker. This certifies that the worker is entitled to health benefits and benefits in kind in another EU Member State in the event of an accident at work or an occupational disease, under the same conditions as those laid down in the Member State of stay.
For healthcare due to an accident at work or an occupational disease, for your employees to be able to receive the necessary treatment and any prosthetic devices, they must submit form PD DA1 to the healthcare facility in the EU Member State where they have been posted.
For example, in Italy, form PD DA1 can be requested from the National Institute for Insurance against Accidents at Work (Inail). The form must be completed by accessing the institution’s institutional website after authorisation, in the ‘Accedi ai Servizi on line’ (‘Access online services’) section. In the event of a technical fault only, the application form can be downloaded from www.inail.it (Home > Atti e Documenti > moduli e modelli > Assicurazione > Gestione rapporto assicurativo > Lavoro all’estero [Home > Acts and documents > Forms and templates > Insurance > Manage insurance relationship > Work abroad]) and sent by certified email (Pec) to the Inail branch responsible for the local area. A screenshot of the error message returned by the system must be attached to the Pec, and the reported fault or anomaly must always be mentioned in the body of the message. The benefit recipient may also request this document by going to the workers’ helpdesk (sportello lavoratori) of the Inail branch responsible for the local area.
