Dopo aver svolto alcune considerazioni in merito alla valutazione delle vibrazionimediante banche dati e dati di certificazione delle macchine, vengonoriportate le norme e illustrati gli strumenti da impiegare per la misurazionedelle vibrazioni. Vengono quindi considerati i temi, dapprima delle vibrazionitrasmesse al sistema mano-braccio e successivamente delle vibrazioni trasmesseal corpo intero, descrivendo il sistema di coordinate, i problemi associati agliaccelerometri (posizione, fissaggio, massa, risposta in frequenza), le caratteristichedei filtri di ponderazione in frequenza, i metodi di misura e di valutazionedel rischio. Vengono infine affrontati aspetti particolari, quali la proceduradi rilevazione delle vibrazioni e la durata delle misure, l'utilizzo del SEL (SingleEvent Level) nel campo delle macchine utensili portatili e del SEAT (SeatEffective Amplitude Transmissibility) nel campo dei mezzi di trasporto e dellemacchine semoventi, il problema della simultaneità dei rilievi sui tre assi, ilfenomeno del DC-shift, la forza di prensione e la forza di spinta, i cavi e le connessioni.

Standards, regulations and vibration measurements tools are shown afterhaving discussed the evaluation of vibration using both databases and product/machines certifications. Handarm and whole-body vibration are then considereddescribing the coordinate system, the issues related to the accelerometers(e.g. positioning and fixing procedures, mass and frequency response), thefrequency behaviour of the weighting filters, the measuring methods, and therisk assessment procedures.Then other particular aspects are taken into account such as the procedure formeasuring vibrations and their duration, the SEL (Single Event Level) methodused for handtool vibration, the SEAT (Seat Effec-tive Amplitude Transmissibility) method used for vehicle ride and outdoor equipment measurements,the issues of concurrent measurements on the three axis and the DCshift,as well as the grip force and the choice of cables and connections.
