Il comparto dei Servizi ospedalieri comprende ospedali, cliniche, case di cura, istituti e policlinici universitari, per un totale di 3.700 aziende (PAT) assicurate all’Inail e di 385mila addetti. Lo studio propone nella prima parte una panoramica delle principali caratteristiche delle strutture, sia pubbliche che private, in termini di posti letto, durata delle degenze e occupati per ruolo professionale e nella seconda un’analisi dettagliata degli infortuni e delle malattie professionali nel quinquennio 2006-2010 rispetto alle principali variabili esplicative del fenomeno. Sulla base degli occupati e degli infortuni è stimata anche la rischiosità del comparto intesa in termini di incidenza infortunistica annua che viene confrontata con quella della Sanità e del complesso delle attività dell’Industria e Servizi.

In Italy, hospital service sector includes public hospitals, private clinics, university general hospital and specialized care centers to the amount of 3.700 “companies” (PAT) and 385.000 health workers insured by Inail. In the first part, this study presents an overview of main features of public and private health facilities in terms of number of beds, length of stay and number of workers for each type of health care provider. In the second part, the study deals with a detailed analysis of health facilities work-related accidents and diseases in the five-year period 2006-2010 as regards the phenomenon main variables. Based on number of workers and work accidents, also the health facilities risk levels are assessed in terms of work accidents occurence per year. This risk assesment is compared with that one of industry activities both for goods and service production.
