Siamo Salvatore Iaconesi e Oriana Persico, partner nella vita e nel lavoro, la nostra principale occupazione è osservare la mutazione in senso tecnologico dell’essere umano contemporaneo e della società, delle implicazioni, degli impatti e degli inediti scenari che la presenza ubiqua di reti e tecnologie determina, intrecciando arte, scienze, ricerca e sperimentazione sul campo. Nel 2013 Salvatore ha rappresentato l’Italia all’interno del programma di cooperazione internazionale Eisenhower Fellowship, fornendoci l’occasione di un soggiorno di 7 settimane negli Stati Uniti. Il programma è rivolto a innovatori, fra i 34 e i 42 anni, provenienti da ambiti e discipline differenti, ma accomunati da una caratteristica fondamentale: la capacità di influenzare il contesto in cui operano e di aprire ponti, dialoghi e relazioni culturali. Lanciata nel 1953, la mission della Eisenhower Fellow è instaurare relazioni, possibilità di scambio, cooperazione e progetti concreti fra gli USA e il paese d’origine del Fellow, promuovendo allo stesso tempo attivamente la collaborazione fra i Fellow, che attualmente sono 2000 in tutto il mondo. In questo articolo vi raccontiamo la nostra esperienza, gli incontri più importanti, cosa abbiamo imparato e soprattutto quali domande ci siamo posti e rimangono aperte: un viaggio nel cuore dell’innovazione, alla ricerca del senso della nostra mutazione.

We are Salvatore Iaconesi and Oriana Persico, partners in life and in work. Our main occupation is the observation of mutation from a technological perceptive of the modern day human being and of society, the implications, the impacts and the new scenarios that the ubiquitous presence of networks and technologies have, interlacing art, science, research and experimentation in the field. In 2013 Salvatore represented Italy as part of the Eisenhower Fellowship international cooperation program, providing us with an opportunity to spend 7 weeks in the United States. The program is aimed at innovators, between the ages of 34 and 42, from all walks of life, but united by a fundamental characteristic: the ability to influence the context in which they operate and to create bridges, engage in dialogues and forge cultural relations. Launched in 1953, the mission of the Eisenhower Fellow is to establish relationships, the opportunity for exchange, cooperation and practical projects between the USA and the country of origin of the Fellow while actively promoting collaboration between the Fellow, currently numbering 2000, throughout the world. In this article we will tell you our experience, about the most important encounters, what we have learned and above all what questions we have asked ourselves and that remain open: a journey into the heart of innovation, the search for the meaning of our mutation.
