Vengono illustrate le principali classi di prodotti fitosanitari, che alla data del 1993 risultano essere costituite da 827 princìpi attivi. Sono considerate le loro forme commerciali ed il loro diverso stato fisico. Dopo una breve indicazione delle principali fonti normative, si esaminano gli aspetti prevenzionali correlati all’uso di tali sostanze: la normativa considera e disciplina tutte le fasi, le procedure operative ed i protocolli sanitari che derivano dall’impiego dei prodotti fitosanitari; le aziende produttrici hanno ridotto la tossicità dei preparati finalizzando le produzioni verso sempre più specifiche sostanze dedicate a singoli "bersagli" ed hanno migliorato le formulazioni; una caduta prevenzionale si evidenzia nel comportamento degli utilizzatori. Ciò implica un grosso sforzo per sensibilizzare ed informare gli operatori riguardo i rischi che derivano dall’uso di questi prodotti.

We illustrate the main classes of phitosanitary products wich result to be constitued by 827 active principles, up to 1993. We examine their commercial forms and their various phisical states. We examine the preventional aspects connected with the utilization of these substances, after a short presentation of the principal rules. Law regulates every phase, every operative procedure and the sanitary protocols wich derive from the utilization of phitosanitary products. The manifacturing industries have reduced the toxicity of the compound producing more and more specifical matters to hit single "targets" and they have improved formulation. Ther risk of accidents depends upon the right utilization of these products by the operators; this requires a considerable effort to make them aware of the risk wich come from the utilization of the products
